Great question.

One of the most common methods is to use PVC pipe and fittings. potting the wires in epoxy where they pass through the bulkhead. You should be able to reach 100 to 200 feet with PVC pipe.

For every 33 feet you gain 14.7 psi. So 99 feet you will have 45 psi pressure on the ROV housing. At 200 feet you will have approx 90 psi pressing on the ROV housing.

The weak link in any ROV housing is:

1) Where the wires pass through the bulkhead
2) The electrical connect (if used)
3) The bulkhead seals, so your best pressure seal will be with a gasket or o-rings.
4) pressure rating of the housing. (PVC verse aluminum)

Another solution, is to fill the electrical compartment with wax.

And another is the use of a otter box (plastic waterproof box.)

Good luck, and let us know how your build goes.
