Just at the stage of selecting batteries for my rov
I know lipos would probley be best But worried about the risks of lipos and the problems with over discharging.
So would like suggestions for alternatives I will be running 3 brushless 800kv outrunner motors. Rated at between 7A and 9A.
Plus an arduino and a camera and a couple of servos.
The battery or batteries should supply 12V for as long as possable and if possable fit in a round tube that is 98mm D by 300mm long.
This is my first project so a bit lost
Thank you in advance
Al

Re: Battery choice
Try http://www.mcmastercarr.com the sealed Lead acid batteries 7.5 Ah are good also they have small ones.
In my electronics projects I have also found that at my work the large UPS battery packs that go bad have 24 12 v batteries in the and then you find only 1 is bad so I save my company thousands by opening and replacing the bad battery with ones the were going to pay to dispose of. so you can find good batteries or connect them in parallel to join them together in a larger array
they are weighty though so have to figure that in.
