Hello,

I'm still new to the forums and ROV's all together but anyways,

Can anyone give me a recommendation on a decent manipulator setup I could use? Attatched is a picture of my frame.
It's similar to a Seafox, It is a wet frame. And yes, I know, It's in dire need of a new paint job.

EDIT: What I'd like to do with the manipulator is pick up items at the bottom of a lake. I'd LOVE a claw but I cannot figure out what to use for a setup, I have an arduino controller, so i'd like to use a servo on SparkFun.com's metal claw ( http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10332 ) but don't know of any waterproof ones thatll work to 60' deep. I don't care if the claw is stationary to the frame or not, I like the idea of Steves treadded claw to open/close, but I cannot for the life of me find a nice one.

Any Ideas? All are appreciated.

Thanks!

--Michael

Look at the Vex claw too.

You can power the claw with a DC motor or DC gear motor that you run wet

With a simple geared motor setup you can even convert one of these types of toys into a manipulator.

I've actually been wanting to do a quick how to on how to make a simple manipulator using one of these but I've been a little side tracked in life lately.... Soon though.......

Just a note on that Sparkfun claw - it's really cheaply made. For the price, it's not bad, but it just doesn't work that well, as the gripping surface is only 1/4 inch wide, with a lot of play.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to control a hydro-lek manipulator? Or any recommendations on 4 or 5 function ROV manipulators?
