Hi,
I'm planning on using cat5e as a tether, and was wondering if anyone had recommendations. I want to use stranded cable for the flexibility, but beyond that are there any other specifications that are desirable/reasonably affordable?
Thanks in advance
Cat 5 recommendations?
Re: Cat 5 recommendations?
you probably want to look for the heaviest gauge (lower number) stranded wire you can find. it will be more robust. a lot of people that use cat-5 for tethers strip off the outer insulation to reduce weight.
if you want to use sealed bulkhead rj-45 connectors, you can find pre-assembled wires with sealed connectors on each end. they probably are not neutrally buoyant, though.
