Motor Mounts

Post by jcawesome »

Hey, does anyone have any ideas for a motor mount??? :ugeek:
Open to suggestions of any kind.I saw that in Steve's Stinger thruster there was one but I have no idea
where in the world he got it. One of those around would be pretty handy.

Thanks

Are you looking for mounts for the actual electrical motors or mounts to attach the thruster to the frame/Rov?

I used the plastic type kitchen cutting boards to make my motor mounts.

I use cutting boards for a lot of stuff because they are cheap, you can normally find the thinner (1/4" inch) ones for around a dollar or two. Thicker ones like 3/4 - 1" can be ordered from places like McMaster Carr for around $16 for a 12" x 12" sheet. They can be worked with hand tools and drill presses but they cut like warm butter with machine tools.

I'm really not sure on glue I've never tried it, maybe a CA type glue or something like gorilla glue?
