CAT5 is unshielded - it isn't really designed for video feeds. That being said, I haven't noticed any degradation in signal quality with it, versus having the camera hooked right up to my monitor. The results are very similar. However, when the motors are running, it does cause the screen to flicker. This isn't a problem with the cable being unshielded, though, because when I hooked the camera up to a different power source than the motors, the flickering went away.
Good luck, and welcome to the forum!
