For that money you can build a better one with much more extras even capable to dive 1000'. I just ordered all parts for mine, 2500£ roughly, with closed motor housings in 1/2" PVCu all housings, magnetic couplings for 8 Motors (2 for the Manipulator) 6x 12V battery Fiber Optic Tether...and 1st target is 500' marker. As it goes all according to plan 300m Tether is the only change I have to do and here it goes to 1000'.. Unfortunately is there no 1000' water depth around Pattaya

yeah, definitely a much better offer.. You get a lot more toy for your $$ as that one before.. Never have seen so much ROV getting sold a e-bay..
I stick to my plan and build one from scratch, just to experience the challenges or gather some good videos how the Camera  is drowning or that whole thing is imploding  .. but I hope after a lot of adrenaline get released it will work as I plan it to do. :P

If you can wait a little while we may be selling our nearly new VideoRay Scout that has been upgraded to a larger video display, high resolution low lux camera, and most importantly, a built in 3 axis stabilized digital compass and video overlay. You can see the compass / osd in operation here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmp8o6xb98w (zero visibility so not much to look at I'm afraid.) I think we have a total of about 10 hours on the system so it's in perfect condition. We're only considering selling it because we are thinking about ordering a higher end unit in January. Incidentally, the VideoRays are outstanding units as a test or hobbiest platform. The design is simple and easy to upgrade and modify. The tether has a spare twisted pair so if you wanted to add a sonar or manipulator you could. If we end up keeping it that's exactly what I'll be adding next.
