I believe that these connectors protect against the possible splashes that can occur in a car, but I am not sure that they protect in immersion in water, I would put to others some non-conductive grease between the male connector and the female connector, any protection is little in the face of attempts to penetrate the water anywhere. Anyway, try dipping the connectors first alone in your home tub to see how they react.

Thanks asesorplaza1 these particular connectors, without modification, are rated IP67. I'm hoping that my addition of the epoxy potting will increase it substantially but I do plan on doing a submersion test with no electronics inside prior to a full test run.
