Motor driver/controller for bilge pump

Post by myron07 »

Hey I was just wondering what driver or controller or ESC would be suitable to control 1100gph Seaflo bilge pumps. I shall be using 55mm propellers attached to the bilge pumps. Any idea about the amperage requirements too?

Thanks but the current being drawn could go upto 5A per thruster and that one can only take 2A

So gang them in parallel?

Or you could just buy a cheap brushed ESC off ebay.

I'm not trying to advertise, but I've had good luck with products from Pololu.
They sell both brushed DC "drivers" and "controllers", where "controllers" offer more control options - like direct servo input, serial, etc.

My personal preference is usually a standalone motor driver . Those can be found here.
I assume you've bought the eBay option or similar at this point, but for future reference, something like the TB9051FTG should work (with analog current monitoring builtin), and the VNH5019 driver would work and run much cooler (good for sealed pressure vessels : ).
