Fitting propeller to shaft

Post by myron07 »

I just bought plastic propellers to attach to bilge pumps to make thrusters but I don't have any prop adapters with me. Can anybody suggest how to mount the propeller on the shaft preferably without prop adapters of possible? I don't wanna spend too much. I read somewhere that using epoxy glue to mount the prop would be enough is that true?

I'd try to make an adapter. Do you know anyone with a lathe, or a 3D printer? Metal would be best, but a printed one would probably work if it was large enough. I know a guy at a machine shop. He made me 6 adapters, with M4 threaded rods inserted, and it cost me a large bag of Pistachios.
And if you glue them, you can't easily take them off.
