SCH80 flanges?

Does it make sense to use SCH80 flanges and gaskets as end-caps for PVC pipe watertight compartments?

I am looking at cementing this to the end of the pipe, putting on a gasket, and then tightening down a piece of 1/4" plexiglas.

Hi this should work fine, if you need to apply a lot of pressure add an outer ring before thighting the screws. And be careful of small hairs between the flange and gasket.
