ROV Nudibranch - workings

Post by PhilA »

I had a couple of enquiries about my ROV, so I thought I post some photo's and name components etc. My design is heavily based on Hamish Troloves design from his website http://www.techmonkeybusiness.com/rov-c ... ition.html with a few changes in code and components.
This build is my first attempt and pretty rough, I couldn't get the digital compass or depth sensor to work but I get a live feed to the surface, HD recorded footage, the controls work pretty good and it is tested to a depth of 48m.

Sorry if this sounds like a newb question, but how are you using the RS485 module in this setup? Does it translate control data?

Hi there,

The RS485 modules are used between the topside Arduino and the Arduino inside the ROV. It is used for the controls and sensors and the video feed is separate. Here is the thread of how I connected it viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1968.
