I dug out my old Nventivity ROV kit made about 2006-2007 timeframe. This now wears two cameras and two Pelican C cell flashlights to help with murky waters.
The main camera is the black and white one included with the kit. The second one is a Harbor Freight underwater color camera with the weight removed.
I used heat shrink tubing to enclose the rebar weights after tearing up the bathtub testing this after it was built. Then packed it away after fishing line got caught up in one of the bilge pump motors. It never moved the same after that fishing line tangled the motor.
So now looking for idea and rebuilding this in my free time.

I'm not an expert, but I'd think that a simple motor replacement would fix your movement problem. My thought would be that the tangled line caused the motor to draw to many amps and burn out.
Good luck with the rebuild!
