As an ex scuba diver with bad sinus problems and The Abyss being my all time favourite film, its little wonder that ROVs are something i want to get involved with.
i'm new to this board but not new to the idea as its been rolling around in my head for the last 20 years!
i've pottered with various components now and again over the years, but with newly acquired access to a Makerspace group and all their resources, the emergence of the Arduino and my recent career change, i feel its time to start making actual progress
already learned a lot from this forum just lurking around and figured it was time to sign up!
so, just doing the newb thing, saying hello and looking forward to making some real progress with this dream i've had for so long for a home 'engineered' ROV

Welcome to ROVs, 20 years is a fair gestation time
I will shortly be living near Lydney, Glos. - not too far from worcestershire. I hope to use the severn estuary as a testing arena, though I suspect it is somewhat murky.
Best wishes.
PS: The abyss is a great film.
