Hey all. I was just wondering if anyone would like to share their fundraising ideas to pay for competition rov's.

My thoughts so far include:
-Corporations and Businesses (sponsorship)
-Logo stuff (T-Shirts, Bags with our logo and SPONSOR written on it)
-General Donations
-Brown Bear Car Wash Tickets - resell
-Coffee, candy, the works
-Kickstarter.com Project
-Benefit Concert (I play some instruments, know some people)

Anyone else care to input?

-Tristan

Yes, our team has been discusing this too. Probably hardeware stores would be pretty open to providing store credit, since it doesn't cost them that much. I think that if you find an education/community involved buisness, they would be pretty open to donating cash. Also, I know for the '11 competition, people were able to get some money from British Petroleum. I think, like $170.

We've had some luck selling stickers with our logo. We had custom stickers donated to us by a company. We then sold the stickers for 50 cents each. We still have tons, and we've made about $20 in like a few days. Just another idea

We hit the streets last year and focused on local manufacturing and industrial businesses. We focused on 3 different sponsorship levels something to the effect of ROV Technician, ROV Specialist, and ROV Certified Master Mechanic. I think the levels were $250, $500 and $1000+. Gave each business a feeling they reached a level or something. I think we had about 14 or 15 businesses and a couple of parnets donate and ended up with around $5500 for the cause. Then we had a couple of donations of items we knew we would need and we were all set for the competition.

I have been thinking about making "perks" for different tiers of sponsorships and reaching out to different companies for money but we are only a two person team at the moment. This is our first year (although we have experimented with ROVs before).
