Just 2 weeks ago, I got into the ROV World.
See what it got me so far
ROV:
Not my own design, just my own handywork with the Sealion-2 as example.
BOM:
2 Raspberry PI's (one inside the ROV, one as a controller station)
1 Xbox360 controller (connected to the ROV controller)
1 Bitwizard I2C servo board (7 servo's can be fitted)
2 Logitech C510 webcam's (one converted to IR)
2 x 35w/12v LED spots
10 x IR LED (Led ring at backside, around IR Camera)
4 x Rule 1100 bilge pumps with Dual Way 320A Brushed ESC Speed Controller for 1/8 & 1/10 R/C Car / Boat from dx.
4 small servo's for Webcam movement
1 (old) ESC for light control
1 Openrov DEPTH/IMU sensor
1 IPhone lens set (1xFisheye on Front, 1xWide on backside)
Software:
Own build Client/Server UDP based ROV software
Client-side (Xbox controller, using jstest + UDP support)
python ms5803-read.py /dev/i2c-1 0x76 (for Depth Sensor, added UDP support)
RTIMULibDrive (for IMU, added UDP support)
Mjpg_streamer (for live video streams from webcams)

Re: Moki ROV (An other DUTCH ROV)
Great and fast progress!
Keep it up!

Re: Moki ROV (An other DUTCH ROV)
Impressive for just two weeks.
Re: Moki ROV (An other DUTCH ROV)
I am sure, having skills like "RC Builder" and "Linux Hacker", helps to keep the build time this short.
Basically it was just buying the parts and putting it all together
Nothing is really fancy or new stuff, most of it came from google or this great forum!

Hi !!
Let me ask you a question
The aluminum tubes were enough weight for buoyancy?

Re: Moki ROV (Another DUTCH ROV)
No, but buoyancy can be adjusted by filling the tubes (I used 1.3Kg) with "Soft RVS" (Stainless Steal Pellets/shot, try your local diving shop)tcholas wrote:Hi !!

ha ha. That's what my 'development station' looks like. Except mine isn't quite so organized.

Don't tell anyone, this was a special "photo" moment.a_shorething wrote:ha ha. That's what my 'development station' looks like. Except mine isn't quite so organized.

I guess, ROV building is "on-hold", until spare parts are found. I guess, a 2A step-down isn't enough to power 4 x 5A Rule 1100 Bilgepumps. Found a nice 20A 24v->12v replacement part on Ebay.
