Old Futaba FP-T5NH transmitter suitable?
Hello,
I am wondering if an old Futaba transmitter and receover would be suitable for our basic ROV.
It's model FP-T5NH and I can't find much on it. The one I am looking at buying second hand is a 7 channel.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks.

really depends on your price range, but old radios are very limited,
newer radios have mixes,
for instance, channel 2 is my left pair of thrusters, channel 2 is the right....
when i push the right stick forward the ROV goes forward, when i push the left stick left, the ROV rotates left, i might do a wee video on it if you don't understand.
i use this for my ROV.....

and it works really well

Thanks Bindo
So with the turnigy controller can you program those things easily? Or is it simply a matter of connecting up the right channels with the desired motors?

pretty much exactly as you just described it yeah.
the 9x is a budget radio with big features, I use mine for my ROV, and 2 Quadcopters, you can save different models in the memory,
here is a short video showing mixes, but you can make any joystick affect any channel, or all channels if you really wanted!

How do you get the signal to the ROV?

Thanks Bindo. Very helpful video.
I have ordered a 9X.
I think I'm going to keep the receiver on the surface. What is the 'adapter' required to hard wire from the transmitter to the receiver?

I have my receiver on the surface also, no adaptor, i can launch and recover the ROV with the TX on a lanyard round my neck.
