Can I ask how you would hope to implement a gps receiver using this board? An antenna at topside?

For GPS you need a GPS-Receiver with seriell interface and NMEA-Protokoll. The X³-Control does not have an own receiver onboard.

GPS is only available on surface. So you can relocate findings after the position determination.

Is this all PC driven? No joystick control. Will it work with MAC?

Sorry, at the moment the software only works with windows XP or higher (recommend Windows 7)

For control you need a usb-joystick or gamecontroller (recommend 3-axis joystick e.g. Saitek X52 pro)
The software is designed for HOTAS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HOTAS).

For configuration the thrustersetup supports 6 axis to eight motor-channels. You can enable each channel to an axis and setup direction and power of each channel.

There will be many updates next time with new functions, sensor-interfaces, modules and of course you can add your suggestions for features to the ROV-Control Forum visit http://www.rov-control.com/forum/en/

Wondering what the tether would be, and how is it connected to both the pc and control board ? It looks like a usb cable in the video.

This set up is what I have been looking for. Keep up the excellent work.

For tether use CAT-cable. You will need 4 lines for data-connection so you have two pairs left for two videosignals. If you use passive video balun its up to 600m (1800ft) with color and with active balun up to 1500m (4500ft) tether...

That is a very nice piece of setup software - I look forward to using it with one of your boards! :D

It worked fine in windows 8 up to my pressing exit.
