Voltage Drop Board

Post by Demon340 »

Here is my voltage drop board. When the 12v+ gets to the ROV, its dropped down on this board to 9v and 6v respectively. The 9 volts goes to power the Ardunio and the 6 volts goes to power the servos. I wanted less wires running back and forth, so this was my solution. Looks horrible but this is a prototype, and it works, and will use it until I can make a fancy one. The heat sink is over kill, I need to cut it down a bit to fit inside the hull. All the connections will goto a protoshield for the Ardunio. I'm making a lightboard to sit on bottom of this one to take care of the lighting wiring.

You can feed +12v into the vin port on the Arduino no problem... You could skip the 9v all together.

You absolutely right. I've just been using 9volts this whole time for testing and whatnot, so I figured I'd just stick with it.
