Yep, that's the sort of power supply I was referring to. If I wanted to use this sort of system, then the first thing I would want to know is whether the input voltage "sag" when the output load was increased (the motors kicking in) would upset the power supply, like cause it to shut down. In normal use, these supplies would be getting a fairly steady input voltage. Some extra capacitors at the supply input may help if there turns out to be a problem. You will really only know by contacting the manufacturer/designer, or by testing it yourself. The same applies for electrical noise being radiated by the supply tether, capacitors/filtering may be needed if you find noise getting into the camera or control signal cables.

The toggle switch system would have separate conductor pairs for each motor/power supply, would it not?
