tether buoyancy

Post by jacko1 »

Hi,

I am using pvc floats from fishing store to keep my tether as netral as possible.
http://shop.kivikangas.fi/PublishedServ ... code=PVC75 (Page in finnish, 60g is amount of lift).
It seems that one buoy keeps quite a long piece (2.6 meters) of tether on surface. What is your advice: Should i cut my buoys half so i can keep them more close to one other?
I thought that if thre is long distance between buoys there will be more "curtain effect" as the tether is hanging down between buoys.
Am i right?

thanks in advance guys!
My rov is getting more complete, but need to figure out how to attatch props to bilge shafts.

I was unable to locate the specific float you are writing about. The best method is the figure out how much your wires weigh when they are in the water and add enough floats to keep the tether neurally bouyant.

Look at the website for ROV in a Box..... http://nventivity.com/ROVIAB.html Contact them directly, they sell a prop hub that will attach your prop to a bilge pump shaft. They were not that expensive. The ROV in a Box uses RC airplane props, so I had them send me props also.
