Has anyone thought of using either regular or synthetic cork for tether floats? It doesn't compress very much, and can be drilled. I have acquired a carton of wine cork for that purpose, but my "sea trial" is not for a few months... My intent is to shape them, to minimize the entanglement...

I'm pretty sure these belong to Phil Nuytten. The gate was locked, so I couldn't go in and explore.

I found these on Burrard inlet in Vancouver.

Did either of you have any luck with these?

What's everyone using to balance their tether buoyancy?

What if you soaked the motor in WD40 or something similar? Would that work in salt water?

I'm thinking of this as my first time build. If anyone's built one, I'd love some hints, tips, improvements, whatever.

I'm going to be off work for 4 months so I thought a little, basic rov might be a fun project to kill the time.
