Re: Problems Arduino Nano V3 and MAX485 no clear connection

Hi! I use techmonkey based code modified for my own needs, easy transfer protocol, and RS485 boards that don't need control lines for the tx/rx switching. I had no end of problems with the cheap rs485 boards and went for slightly more expensive boards that detect when you TX and do the switching for...

Great photo's Lucas. :)
Like you I have been at this for a while (10 years now I think) and keep coming back to my design and improving it.
so much of the interest for me is in the design and build and experimantation as much as the dive and drive.
keep up the good work.

Re: Jets With Valve Control

interesting idea there ARES. unfortunately water jet propulsion is notoriously inefficient at low speed, at least in boats it is, so I suspect you would increase power needs rather than reducing them. Having driven a twin jet drive diesel RIB and had to refuel it far more frequently than a similar s...

Re: Red camera filter.

Wow, thanks for the link Marco. :) excellent video, as is her one about white balance underwater. so... if you really want to get good colour video underwater, you're going to have to get serious. use a red or magenta filter on your camera lens below 3m depending on whether you have blue or green wa...

Re: My "MINIRAY" Rov.

I've not been doing much ROVing lately but last time out it performed fairly well, tether drag is still a slight problem when turning even with the videoray umbilical but it's usable, and because I'd tweaked the white balance in my camera settings too far the video colour was way off. before today I...

Re: IR glare

Thinking more about this... I have an outdoor webcam with IR LEDs that come on when it's dark, I found the colour to be very purple in daylight as there was no IR cut filter so I added one and disabled the IR LEDs in the camera settings. ( I use it as a weather webcam so wasn't bothered about seeing...

Re: IR glare

IR does not work well under water as the water acts as an IR cut filter. So I would disconnect the IR LEDS. Or you can fit an IR cut filter direct on the camera lens. I have a ring of white LEDS around my camera and had to make a hood around the lens that goes all the way to the acrylic dome to prev...

Re: comenzando desde cero (Starting from scratch)

OK... I have changes lots of things in all three sketches. I forget what I did to the master hahaha. I told the salve to receive the data, deleted the serial prints from slave, deleted several stray { and }, renamed your Voids because you had called them loops which they are not. etc etc..... and ma...

Re: comenzando desde cero (Starting from scratch)

Yes, something like that, but remove it first and check that the ROV can be controlled by the controller.
Then once that works, we will need to make some changes to slave and display codes. ;)
we still have a lot of work to do but I hope we are moving in the right direction one step at a time. :)
