Help picking sensors

I will have a Arduino mega on onboard my rov and I could use some help picking sensors. I have no arduino experience, coding or otherwise. My only electronic experience is with multi-rotors with no gps or other sensors ( KK2.1 board ). I was looking at : SparkFun 9 Degrees of Freedom Breakout - MPU-...

Re: draw, thrust, and components

@Bubbles
You can still use a larger diameter than propeller just for protection
How much clearance do you think ? Would 1/2 " between prop and tube be enough, i.e. a 3" tube housing a 2" prop ?

Re: draw, thrust, and components

Very informative post . My question is, if I am using DT 700 motors with 50 mm Robbe 3-bladed props, I shouldn't use a shroud or any kind of thruster tube set-up ? I might have to change my design if so.

Re: ROV-Control V3

Wondering what the tether would be, and how is it connected to both the pc and control board ? It looks like a usb cable in the video.

This set up is what I have been looking for. Keep up the excellent work.

Re: Custom ROV Circuit Board - Arduino Based

Nick, very nice work! A few questions : 1) Are the rov board and esc both powered off the 12V battery ? If so, do you have to cut the red wire from the esc to the board or can you just plug the harness in as is ( all 3 wires connected ) ? 2) Have you thought about some kind of on-screen display for ...

Radio control on-screen display options help

I am planning on using a Turnigy 9X because I don't want to get into programming an arduino. I was looking into the different OSD options out there and need some help. I would like to see voltage, compass heading, etc. on my laptop. A cheap osd that just shows voltage : HobbyKing E-OSD http://www.ho...

Re: RC control system - Turnigy 9X ( mode 2 )

It looks like he will have a 2 wire tether going from the ROV to the DSC port of his transmitter. This is the method I was looking at before I found the X3 control. That's the plan. I have read about others on here doing the same. Here's just one. http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/rovforum/viewtopic.php...
