Re: Dutch Rov.
Even better my arduino, with 4 servos to act as ESC with brushless motors and a waterproof temprature sensor is on its way from Hongkong to my house. So I can start working on the electronics and connecting it to my PI. Plus I can make some educated guess about the size of all the stuff. Cannot wait...

Dutch Rov.
Oke I suck at drawing pictures on my pc. So do not laugh to hard.
In reality the two top motors are going to be placed at an angle so the can also cope with lateral forces in the future.
The lamp will be a dive tourch which I have at home (LED lots of light and a long burn time)

Re: Accelerometer on rov
Was thinking along that line also as the mark two version of my ROV. A friend send me this link: http://dx.com/p/premium-motionplus-for-wii-remote-white-32506 should contain a very good chip and there are plenty rescources how to connect it to an arduino. My idea was to use the arduino to read the c...

Re: Anybody tried to use EDF motor?
I did read the post of Deakel's build a while ago before I found the EDF options, nice post with a lot of ideas to use. As posted the high RPM is a problem for underwater (stared reading on the Open ROV forum before I came here). Fortunally has Conrad a lot of cheap boat props target at high RPM mot...

Re: Greetings from the Netherlands
Hi KR2_Diving and others, Progress so far only in my mind and some raw drawings. Plan is to start simple, just a major tube with a web camera a raspberry pi plus arduino on its own power supply. A UTP CAT 5 thether to the surface. And two skids which contain batteries to fire the 4 brushless motors....

Anybody tried to use EDF motor?
Goodevening, I was wondering did anybody look at those EDF motors which are available by several shops online? The plus I can think of: - full package, motor with fan and schroud for better flow. The cons: - prop is for air not water. - number of kv (rpms per volt) is very high on cheaper models. Bu...

Greetings from the Netherlands
Hello, I am already long planning on building my own ROV and a recent visit to the marine training facility which had a few ROVs lying about sparked my interested again. This time I decided that the winter is a good time to build it and summer would be an excellent excuse to use it in between dives....
