Re: Spektrum DX5e 2.4ghz / .10 Brushless motors / 30amp ESC/

All those TX's are pretty much the same radios. They may have different firmware or a few cloned components but thats about it. If your radio flashed up when you connected the 3.5mm mono jack then you might have ppm out. I will try to grab the specs on your TX and RX and let you know if it is DSC ca...

Re: ROV Asia parts

Not yet I am afraid to report. My friend is very busy with a new business and since this is a non paying gig for him it might take a while before he has time to rip into this.

Re: ROV progress

Your right on the money Mgbss. You only need the two wires, the center pin on the RX BAT port is not used. The switch is not required if you use the ppm and ground from the TX to directly feed signal to the RX. I said this elsewhere but any DSC compatible RX will work provided its for your brand of ...

Re: Paint types

PVC can be painted successfully but you need to prep it properly or you will have failed results. Clean the PVC pipe with either an ammonia-based cleaner, such as window cleaner or a 50/50 bleach solution to remove any grease, dirt and other surface debris. Scrub the heck out of it with a good stiff...

Re: Spektrum DX5e 2.4ghz / .10 Brushless motors / 30amp ESC/

Well since I will be powering the receiver via an ESC BEC, I don't need the battery or switch, so I am bypassing that part and just extending the DSC cable that goes from the Transmitter to the receiver. Just plug the DSC cable into the Transmitter and the other end (via a servo wire) into the rece...

Re: Surface or Onboard Battery

You can charge Lipo's in parallel. The chargers just sees it as one BIG pack.

Re: Surface or Onboard Battery

leeinmt, I am into FPV myself heading to the North American FPV meet in Montreal this weekend. Anyway IMO two of the most important things to consider when building an ROV is: 1. Hull integrity. Design, build, test, test and retest BEFORE you load it with electronics and batteries. If you build it c...

Re: Plans For a Ducted Fan

Yep that's it. Jogged my memory when I read the manual. Works exactly as described. Lets just say that the transition from full forward to full reverse happens fast enough it does not compromise the full effect of control. People have to remember that we operate in a fluid and a few millisecond paus...
