Re: ROV Submarine for Advanced Engineering
The number one thing, for any remotely controlled vehicle is to be able to see and sense it's surrounding. Ability to maneuver in tight spaces. Several motors to allow vertical and horizontal movements. Typical inputs include: 1) camera(s) 2) depth sensor 3) pressure sensor 4) compass Lighting is al...

Re: Waterproof Housing
Great question. One of the most common methods is to use PVC pipe and fittings. potting the wires in epoxy where they pass through the bulkhead. You should be able to reach 100 to 200 feet with PVC pipe. For every 33 feet you gain 14.7 psi. So 99 feet you will have 45 psi pressure on the ROV housing...

Re: ROV Asia not MIA
I really liked how easy it was to use. all the logic is built in to the chips. The negative side, is the boards use a proprietary communication, and if one of the boards fail, as it did for me, you have an ROV with no control system. You can not go to the store and pick up a replacement part. As you...

Re: 12V speaker wire
I am not sure the actual temp, but from our tests it wasn't that warm unless you were really pulling a lot of power from it. At that point, I would say it was warm enough to melt/soften wax. Can you enclose it in a short 3" PVC tube with a threaded end cap, and pot the wires? That is what we do...

What model of arduino board did you use?
Do you require one in the ROV and at the surface?
