Re: Lighting Upgrade for my wee rov

Hi there,

I'm hoping to do a little video on this ROV soon, once i pluck up the courage to talk on camera as i hate my own voice!

Re: Boscam HD19

Flight cameras don't tent to like low light conditions, though you will have lighting on your ROV?

GoPro's (especially the hero 3+) aren't known for their low light capabilities, though mine does just fine with additional lighting from the ROV

Re: KR2 ROV

loving it 8-)

you must have a small-ish set of delays in your code? (approx 100ms?) looking at the way it counts?

10 updates per second is more than enough though! i found through experimentation that anything near 200ms was far too much and prop speed changes became less fluid and more robotic.

Re: KR2 ROV

Loving your LED control in the previous post!

What method are you using to increase the value in arduino?? it's a nice smooth count up and down!

Also what batteries are you using? 3s or 4s?

Re: Hello from Southampton, England :)

Ordering online is your best bet, unless you know any plumbers? I'd recommend the style of pipework http://www.plasticpipeshop.co.uk/Class-E-High-Pressure-15-bar-3m-Length_c_1517.html it'll take anything you are likely to throw at it. Plus you can get flanges for this stuff too. Whatever your dad ha...

Re: Turnigy TrackStar 18A ESC

Hey guys,i'm dredging this thread up again  After some thought, i decided to try an alternative ESC, This one http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=11742&aff=1517460 And with my current setup it works flawlessly. I don't think the 1/18 scale ESC's are suitable f...

Re: How well does IR do in murky water?

Agree with Steve.

Thermal imaging cameras detect surface temp in air. Also I'd think that trying to fly with a resolution of 640x480 would be like trying to watch TV on a calculator.

Though you are on the right track I think, low light camera without an IR filter is something I'm looking in to

Re: Hello from Southampton, England :)

Welcome to the board! Ballast systems are pretty difficult to achieve. Normally used for large tracked systems, though this may be the route you want to go down? The tanks don't have to be pressure rated if left open at the bottom, with a dump valve on top for descent, and your air inlet mounted mid...
