Re: making cat5 neutrally buoyant
I recieved some samples of the Olectec-12 and I found the 1/4" to be neutral with cat5e if about 2g per foot of mass is added in fresh water. I will do some further testing (including in seawater) but adding tiny weights would be pretty easy to make up the difference.

Re: making cat5 neutrally buoyant
What type of cat 5 cable did you use (what size conductors)? You might be able to get closer to neutral with cat6 since the conductors are a couple guages thicker. I have done several ROV's with the poly rope (yellow stuff available at hardware stores) and it really seems like the only solution with...

Re: Arduino compatible depth sensor
I bought this which will get me just over 1000' of water depth: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261248772710?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_722wt_1124 I cost about the same as what you got and works the same. They have many pressure ranges available and it can be thread into the p...

Re: How to get a Yellow submarine ?
Try plastic fusion paint, you won't need any primer and it chemically bonds to the plastic. There are several brands carrying it and yes they have yellow which I used on my second ROV.

Wow, that has a lot of power, nice compact design too. Can you post specs and maybe some dive footage when you get it!

Re: Hi from WA
I am in the Bremerton area and have built a pretty good ROV which I hope to touch the bottom of Puget Sound with eventually. I live within 15 miles of the spot. Biggest issue will be current, keeping the boat in place (too deep to anchor) and the fact the area is in the shipping lane!

Re: Help with Cree LED 12v Power Supply
Deal Extreme (dx.com)has a great selection of Cree LED's, drivers and special lenses designed for them. I use two 5W LED's with diffusor lenses which really seem to provide a nice even light in the front of the ROV. I haven't dived with them yet so we shall see how they look underwater. The drivers ...
