Re: Best of both worlds?

The underwater propulsion doesn't exactly look smooth but cool concept, now we only need to get rid of the tether :)

Re: Outrunner Underwater??

Another issue might be the price of the wheel :D. I was originally planning to buy bluerobotic thrusters but for the six thrusters with shipping to Sweden and import taxes I felt it became to expensive at least for my first ROV. So I am going with a homemade brushless setup with a bluerobotics desig...

Prevent explosion, battery compartments, Lipo batteries

Again I have been thinking about the potential danger of keeping lipos in a closed off aluminum tube, I don't want it to explode on me. I have been reading a lot on the subject and life batteries seems to be a good alternative, for my requirements however I have to pay a bit more for a bit less capa...

Re: Connect camera to computer monitor?

I don't have an answer to your question but have you thought about the power requirements of the computer monitor? What power source are you planning on using?

Re: The UnknownROV

I think it looks really cool, the size could be an issue as you pointed out. How much do you estimate it weights? I am thinking about what impact the umbilical would have on your maneuverability.

Re: Why so few hydrodynamic hulls?

If you don't have the need for speed I don't really see the benefit. If you plan on travelling longer distances at high speeds, sure it would be beneficial to conserve energy. Or if you plan on going really deep it could perhaps get you to the bottom quicker with less power consumption. For most cas...

Re: Hello from Sweden

I recognize the feeling, if you are like me and got no previous experience of underwater vehicles there is so much to learn before the actual build starts if you want to have a plan and not just dive into it. Also if you sum up everything you need in terms of parts and such it's quite a lot. I have ...

Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

The lighting is a tricky part, I'm making my own using T6 leds with reflectors in aluminum housings. I got a few with different lumen and color temperature that I am gonna try out. I have no idea what works best so I am going with quantity (6 lights in total), it's hard to guess how much light you n...

Welcome to the forums Brian! I agree, I usually do a forum search before I go and Google it and usually the topic has been discussed here already.
