Re: Bilge pump prop match?
From what it would seem, most people use a machined prop shaft adapter, I've looked long and hard for an adapter and haven't been able to find one, this is actually what caused me to switch to brushless (I don't have, or access to a lathe). Everyone seems to have their own preference of props, but I...

Re: New Thrusters for Cheap!!
They seem to work well for me, with the kort nozzle I printed, it gave about 6lbs, 2.72kg, of forward thrust. so far I haven't had any problems with my ESC overheating, but then again, I haven't run it very long. I'd imagine when running an ROV the ambient water temperature would keep the temperatur...

Re: Bilge Pump Thruster Kort Nozzle
That's a sweet print! I was doing some experimentation as well (http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/rovforum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1464) it seemed that, honestly, my arbitrary one had just about the same amount of thrust for prop speed. Have you tested any other airfoil's (Hydrofoils?) and compared? for ...

Re: New Thrusters for Cheap!!
I've been using HobbyKing's brushless outrunner motors with a reversible ESC the motor is about £8.18 and the ESC is £10.17.

Re: Kort nozzles
Today I wasn't able to get around to the NACA 4415, but I did try out a shorter variant of the Rice nozzle. Seeing as how so many different companies, individuals, and suppliers have such short nozzles. So I've shortened the Rice from it's original 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) to about 1.2 inches (3.1 cm). S...

Re: Kort nozzles
Those are definately interesting numbers. What was your amperage draw like with and without the nozzle? Unfortunately, my multimeter only goes to 10Amps, I tested it for a second, and it read 17. But my ESC isn't leaking the magic blue smoke so it must be under 30 amperes. Moving forwards or, in th...

Re: Kort nozzles
I actually printed a kort nozzle today (No particular shape, just thought it looked right), it is cambered and it's more than tripling my thrust output. I'm using a 700kv out runner with a 40x57mm prop. Before my nozzle I was measure about 2.1lbs (.95kg) of thrust to 6.6lbs (3kg). (Please keep in mi...

Re: Problem with Brushless Thrusters
Is your prop coming loose? Mind tends to do that, you can especially tell if there is a loud rubbing/vibrating noise at higher rpms.

Re: Picking a camera
I'd recommend a CCTV camera. While an Ethernet camera has a native range of about 320' over cat5e, the CCTV camera would be much easier to connect to an RCA input. Needing only a BNC to RCA adapter, additionally a CCTV camera can be extended up to about 2000' over a balun (If the balun product pages...
