Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, I have now soldered the BlueESC power cables to the Power Distribution Board and have also soldered the Power Cable from the Electronics Tray WTC to the Power Distribution Board. Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, On this last Sunday I spent the day moving the six BlueESC Thrusters from the homebrew chassis to the BlueROV2 chassis. It took most of the day as I had to turn each Thruster's ESC/motor Housing180 degrees in its accompanying Nozzle so that the Control/Power Cables pointed towards the bottom...

Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, This has been a busy week for me since my BlueROV2 chassis components arrived on Dec 7th. Upon receipt of the chassis components I proceeded to assemble the basic frame which also included the installation of the Battery WTC by following these instructions ( http://docs.bluerobotics.com/brov...

Re: Blue Robotics/OpenROV 2.8 Hybrid ROV

Hi All, This last week I finally finished mounting my Topside WiFi components in a water resistant case. My WiFi access point consists of a TP-LINK TL-WR802N wireless N300 Travel Router, an OROV Topside Tether Interface, and an EasyAcc 10000mAhr Power Bank all mounted in a small MTM Survivor Dry Box...

Re: Blue Robotics/OpenROV 2.8 Hybrid ROV

Hi All, My Hybrid ROV just completed another dive in my Associations's swimming pool. The object of this dive was to determine battery usage over a period of close to an hour. I ran the ROV for almost an hour using Depth Hold, which caused the vertical thruster to run continuously, and applied moder...

Re: Blue Robotics/OpenROV 2.8 Hybrid ROV

Hi All, I just finished with my Hybrid ROV pool trials and everything went very well. I had to adjust the roll ballast slightly from when it was in the test tank, but that was all I needed to do as far as ballasting went. The OROV Depth Hold function worked well, though I did not try and use the Hea...

Re: Experimental ROV Design using Blue Robotics Components

Hi All, Recently I have decided to replace my home brew HDPE chassis with a BlueROV2 chassis due to the weight of the HDPE chassis. Since both of the ROV chassis support a vectored six thruster configuration replacing the HDPE chassis with the BlueROV2 chassis should be fairly straightforward. Thoug...

Re: Blue Robotics/OpenROV 2.8 Hybrid ROV

Hi All, Tomorrow is the big day for my BR/OROV Hybrid Three Thruster ROV as I completed my Tether Reel this week and will be checking out the ROV in my Association's swimming pool. Unfortunately the pool is only five feet deep, but that will allow me to see how well ballasted the ROV is in open wate...

Re: Blue Robotics/OpenROV 2.8 Hybrid ROV

Hi All, I am pleased to announce that I successfully tested the functionality of my Hybrid ROV yesterday in my 38 gal test fixture. Everything went as expected in relation to thruster, camera, and light functionality. The only thing I had to change was the direction of the two horizontal thrusters. ...
