Re: The Basic Rov Control System Wiring Manual (Rev. 1)

Have you looked at Steve's personal ROV web site. http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/
He did a retrofit of his original Seafox. The How To's and FAQ has a lot of good ideas. I used the Velleman kit on mine. It works great for simple on/off control.

Re: U-DRONE Amethyst AUV Platform

I'm thinking of trying this to waterproof stepper motors, using a vacuum chamber. It's not the cheapest, but it might help with heat issues.

I did my ballast tests in the bathtub :P
And to fine tune the ballast I put a screw on each top corner and added/removed large washers.

Re: Retro- Retrofit Seafox

I finally got it back in the water, but only for a few minutes. I didn't take into account the current in that area. It was really strong. There was no way I could hold position to pick anything up off the bottom. When I tried to bring it up, it was really slow. I put down the controls and pulled it...

He made me 6 adapters, with M4 threaded rods inserted, and it cost me a large bag of Pistachios. And if you...

Re: Frame design selection

The Seafox is a good, easy design. PVC is cheap and easy to modify if you want to change something later.

Re: First seafox build

Nice! The ICs are a great idea. I did my first test in a bathtub too.
