Re: I'm jumping in!

Hi, Please keep in mind that the thrusters might be a little fragile. At least that's what some have said. There will be an updated version some time in the distant future that addresses some of the issues that some have pointed out. Also, I have some Igus composite bushings coming in the mail shor...

Re: Custom ROV Control System Update

It's weird that the PS2 has that issue (or this implementation does). I've worked with PS2 and Xbox gamepad interfaces and haven't had to do much more than tweak the deadspot. I even thought about a way to detect it and auto set it, but it's a lot of code for something that generally doesn't change ...

Re: Custom ROV Control System Update

Did you get a copy of the firmware or just the pre-loaded boards? I don't think you can download the program from an Arduino, only upload to it. (at least I don't know how to). If you have the firmware you should be able to use a map() function and also set up output to a screen to see what the rang...

Ha ha, very cool!

At first I didn't get a sense of scale until I realized that was a shoe it was grabbing. Very cool!

Re: I'm jumping in!

Oh yes! I was also sure it would only take a few months! My tendency to change my plans almost at a weekly basis is the biggest fault for the long time it is taking. Always some new ideas, discovering problems and so on. Hope you get going on your soon! :) Thanks, I think I've only change the...

Re: I'm jumping in!

Hey Ole! Remember when we first started on this journey? :) I don't know about you but I thought it would be a six-month project at most. Ha ha. I don't do much work on mine in the summer months so it's taken me forever to make progress. I'm hoping the hardware side won't be as difficult as the soft...

Glad you're seeing my comments the way they're meant. I'm still on my first ROV and don't really know what to expect either.

(and I don't get any pop-ups from this site)

Re: PI based ROv utilising..Node.Js..socket.io and HTML5 can

Yep setting a heading or setting an end location are different things.. Just because you maintain a certain degrees of heading then you may not end up at the expected destination as the craft may have been crabbed by the current. I am expecting though that the current won't act on the whole craft a...
