Re: Turnigy TrackStar 18A ESC
@AKR2_Diving, No, it is not a ham radio license number. It used to be SSBN626 which was the ship's number of the Polaris Fleet Ballistic Missile Nuclear Submarine Daniel Webster. Now THAT is an Awesome tribute, and come to think of it, a great handle for an online ROV forum!! (And a great story as ...

Re: KR2 ROV
Oh YEA! 2015-08-24 21.26.25 (Medium).jpg My shipment from BlueRobotics arrived today! First impressions: These thrusters are pretty solid! Feel a lot heavier and solid in the hand then I was expecting! Cables all appear very sound, and the build quality is GREAT! It is a shame it is going to be such...

Re: KR2 ROV
I want to use this with Ethernet, how do i go forward? I have not played with Ethernet much... in which way do you mean that you want to use this with Ethernet? If you are talking for the tether.. i would think you would just have to look at the code regarding the RS485 coms... and replace this wit...

Re: Turnigy TrackStar 18A ESC
Hey TCIII/SSN626B, (is that a HAM radio licence number!?) I had considered this... I was going to give it a shot either way to see what I could achieve... I am really hoping it will work solid enough to run on I2C... mind you... the code scares me less with PWM... No firmware flashing to address etc...

Re: Turnigy TrackStar 18A ESC
This might all be a moot point for me anyway...
My BlueRobotics T100 with built in ESC should be here later today!! I am planning on switching to I2C comms to run all my thrusters...
If I can figure out the firmware flashing thing...

Re: Turnigy TrackStar 18A ESC
Ahh... THAT calibration! I did that probably 2 years ago when I bought the ESCs... but haven't revisited since... Will try that again tonight to see if it helps! EDIT: Did a bit of work last night and re-calibrated the ESC, as well as added the props to provide some resistance/load to the motors. On...

Re: Turnigy TrackStar 18A ESC
...you should try with a prop on, brushless motors really need a bit of mass/drag to start properly... Hmm... Had not considered that... thanks! Will see if i can dig out my old props/adapters. Also, have you calibrated your throttle range? This makes a big difference. Not exactly sure what you mea...

Here is the results:
Settings:
ESC Settings: (ESC : Drag : Brake Strength : Punch) left to right
1 : 100% : 20% : 30%
2 : 0% :20% : 80%
3 : 100% : 100% : 100%
4 : 100% : 100% : 80%
Still not happy with what I am seeing...
