It's kind of a niche hobby so the forum is slow at times but we always look forward to seeing new stuff from new people. That Rov in a Box has gotten a lot of people started over the years and is such a great starting platform to learn from. Anyway.... Welcome to the forum.

Re: Magnetically Coupled Thruster
Also... Check out my post (viewtopic.php?t=1918) I played around a bit with printing the T100 prop too and Ian MacKenzie had a great suggestion where if you post finish the prop it might get better performance. I was thinking of maybe epoxy coating and sanding it smooth to get the best (smoother) fi...

Re: Magnetically Coupled Thruster
Very cool design... I like how you incorporated the T100 prop. Until I saw your post I kind of forgot I tried to built one of these. (it was so long ago) I just reread my post to and I guess never did get the bugs worked out of my design but maybe some day I get back around to it. Great work though ...

It can be a little slow hear sometimes (I should say most times ) being such a niche hobby but I look forward to seeing what you have built.

Reboot Rov Lights-004.jpg Here is the printed bracket and the cheap 1100 Lumen Scuba Dive flashlight. Reboot Rov Lights-005.jpg The bracket just mounts to the same holes that hold the frame to the float pod. Reboot Rov Lights-006.jpg The strap bracket on the light fits into this tab on the bracket ...

Re: Rov Reboot (3D Printed Rov)
Reboot Rov Lights 001.jpg Well its been longer than a week or two  but maybe this is the year I finally finish this thing... Started work again with adding some lighting. I designed some brackets that will hold some external dive flashlights. These are simple mounts for now just for testing. R...

(edit - Just to be clear you need two relays per motor to control forward and reverse.)

Re: U-DRONE Amethyst AUV Platform
In the quick tests I did 3D printed caps (even printed at 100% infill) will not be waterproof at depth. I would go with a ready made enclosure like you linked especially if you have some money wrapped up in the electronics.

If you have a 3D printer (or access to one) I just released a 3D printed version of that old Armatron Claw that Ian and myself use.jscott83 wrote:I really wanna figure out the claw

Re: Blue Robotics T100 Bilge Pump Conversion
Hey Steve, I'm a new user of this site looking to upgrade my propulsion system. I was wondering if you ever perfected this design, or have an alternative design. This is my fourth year of participation in the MATE competition, and my team would like to raise the bar this year. I haven't done anythi...
