Re: If you have enough lego
I must say that my lego collection did not include so many motors and remote options as there are now available. I had one motor which was connected by a wire to the battery and that had a switch with three options forward reverse and neutral

Re: FSK modulation to transmit further
Big plus for you is that in water sound travels further. Disadvantage of this system is that you only can do half duplex and think about both the land side and rov side sending information at the same time which generates more noise.

Re: Red camera filter.
Something I learned with camera's and diving, always take something with you that is white. So you can adjust by focusing on that. So If there is a bit of your ROV always visible on the camera paint that in white and your are set

Re: U-DRONE Amethyst AUV Platform
Beautiful shape, only I think that the watertightness leaves something to desire. I think that you can achieve a better succes with swaping the whole dome if required. Because a flat surface is "easy" to make waterproof.

Re: Arduino/Teensy transmitting over RS485?
UTP has a max distance of 100m with Cat 5 cable. Practical with interference it is a bit lower around 80m is the max I managed in a network setup with good cable, but interference of lamp transformators. I'm sorry, i'm a mechanical engineer so i'm still learning a lot of the tech side of the hobby....

Is your issue simulair like this one: https://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.p ... 35#p339477 there are several solutions in that thread. I find the adafruit forum excellent fir debuging sensor issues.
