Re: Cree xm-l T6 + constant current driver

Interesting problem. The torch is great - but I found it needed to be switched on at the start of a mission and there is no easy way of dimming the light if required unless a complicated mechanical mechanism is built. The Cree LED and PSU is the one I went for as the LED can be switched ON/OFF and d...

Re: Disc Retriever

The depth of my ignorance knows no bounds !

Had to look up disk golf, it looks like a fun game.

I hope your ROV successfully retrieves loads of disks.

Re: DT700 thruster 8lbs 19A

Motors look great and the performance is good, a lot of work and effort and a good result. :)

Are you planning on selling thee or making the designs available?

Re: Stopped lurking, started designing

I had wondered why the forum was so quiet - I'm glad that you've started your design and am looking forward to seeing how it progresses. :)

Re: controlling ESCs with a joystick

@A.R.E.S._R.O.V. - ESCs are controlled with ppm (pulse position modulation) which is also how servos are controlled. So just connect the ppm control line for the servo to the ppm control line of the ESC.

Re: Calibrating Temperature Sensors (esp: DS18b20)

There have been other devices that I have used that were 'out of spec' - they worked for the most part but not 100%, and it was usually the part that didn't work that I needed. If a part is low cost in the "too good to be true arena" then it probably is too good to be true. A few years ago...

Re: Calibrating Temperature Sensors (esp: DS18b20)

@EKMallon - thanks for posting your results. It is great to see real research and results which are meaningful and useful. Your research prompted me to look through the DS18b20 specification again and was surprised to see the error graph showing +- 3s. If I am reading it right, outside this error lu...
