Re: ROV progress
Your making progress, Im not Im kinda stuck in a holding pattern right now waiting on a digital scale. Then Its more boring thruster testing.... but might try a head to head with a brushless motor just to get a better feel of things, who nows, but I kinda enjoy the testing phase...

Re: Motor ESC combo
not cheap to build thats for sure...KR2, have you considered the run times you would get at the amp draw of the motors?? You seem to be going to pull alot of amps, Im trying to keep my main thrusters amp draw below 10 amps each. Im also considering if I can run motors at a lower current for the dive...

Re: Thruster build
Whoo hoo!!! Just coupled two batteries in series (one was half dead and only showing 8.5 volts) and ran it to the thruster. The battery went flat fast so I didnt really get a good look at the voltage, but the amps were about 9 and the thrust was, or atleast I think I saw 3lbs before I felt the power...

Re: Thruster build
Just had another one of those "oh Duh" moments, I could use one motor to drive another motor as a generator, put the generator under load (thinking light bulbs) to act upon a load cell. I should be able to dial in the motor and find its sweet spot that way (I think)....... Hmmmmmm that mig...

Re: Thruster build
Thanks for the link Bones, its a good read. Unfortunatly Im not capable of performing those equasions  and even if I was there are some variables that I would need to try and figure out before I even could. What would really be nice is if I had some sort of a load cell that I could use to dyno...
