Re: draw, thrust, and components
In my ROV I am using four 120 Watt motors. After my Thruster tests I limited them to 70% (about 7 A). For using in low current areas it is more than enough. Last weekend I was really surprised to see that my batteries were almost full after 70 minutes of diving around. The average current was 5,4 A ...

Re: ArduROV new footage from lake in Germany
Nice video, do you have any idea about the depth you went during the dive? This dive was between 0 and 5 meters. (0-15 feet) And how deep can it go? :) It ist built for 50 meters (150 feet) but so far I have never reached more than 20 meters (60 feet). Around my place it is very hard to find a dive...

Re: I'm jumping in!
Have you tried with two blades? Maybe the performance will increase. The air-props are not ideal for water.

Re: Thrusters placement
I am using exactly this thruster placement in my ROV. The lateral movement with the vertical thrusters is possible. But it is important to know about the turning torque of the thrusters. You have to place all the heavy stuff (batteries, etc.) to the bottom and all the buoyant stuff to the upside to ...

Re: ArduROV
The floatation Blocks are made of polyurethane foam. I coated th foam with one layer GRP to make them stronger. It works pretty good. The floatation for the Tether is made of micro glassbubbles with epoxy.
