I would just refer to the "draw, thrust and components" thread where others have already tested several combinations of motors and propellers and posted the results.

Those are definately interesting numbers. What was your amperage draw like with and without the nozzle?

I had thought about using one of the gyroscope chips from a quadcopter to make use of the auto-leveling feature which would be handy when picking something up off the bottom.
I'm just not sure about it being able to deal with reversing vertical thrusters.

On November 5th the MATE center shared a post on their facebook page from a team in India talking about their new Bluerobotics thrusters they are using in this years competition.
Seems like an endorsement of their allowance to me.

They used 1.5 inch aluminum spacer tubes drilled and tapped for set screws on the motor end and internally tapped on the prop end so screws can pass through the prop and into the adapter.

Since most ROVs dont have to move all that fast through the water, the fluid flow around the thruster body doesn't tend to be all that critical as long as you space the prop a sufficient distance from the motor housing. However, if you really want to use a belt drive, there are some nice small tooth...

I posted the thrust specs for the 700kv version of this motor in the draw, thrust, and components thread.

From what i have seen on the MATE forum all questions posted in the technical questions section have been answered by someone from MATE pretty quickly.
