Re: Bilge pump amps and Arduino motor shields
Ah ok... The skid steering bit... I played with skid steer but decided as I will need a bow thruster anyway (for rotation when not going forward/reverse). I'm going to leave the heading and correction to the bow thruster. The skid steer will of course work but if you have a way to go and need to cor...

Re: Bilge pump amps and Arduino motor shields
That link looks like it goes to a steering wheel controlled tank. Am I seeing it wrong ?

Re: Bilge pump amps and Arduino motor shields
nice, a steering wheel may be a good option if coupled with some video glasses.
I must admit when you said tank steer I was thinking of water tanks
That reminded me of two fish in a tank and one said to the other.... do you know how to steer this thing

Re: MakiBox 3D printer...
SO got most of it doing something now. I'm still waiting for my bearings but the wobble due to backlash isn't that great on smaller prints so I can make do for now. I had lifting where a bit of the print would lift up and collide with the print head and be dragged around the bed and wreck all the re...

Re: PI based ROv utilising..Node.Js..socket.io and HTML5 can
Ok scrap the PId simulator thing.. It is too difficult to try guess and replicate the real world. The max rate of change of the ROV I can guess at but how much it will go over the set point due to inertia and stuff ends up so much guess work that I'm sure my model wouldn't mean anything. unfortunate...

Re: PI based ROv utilising..Node.Js..socket.io and HTML5 can
I'm working on the PIDs at the moment. I'm building a test screen where I can graph the output and simulate water current coming from the side and stuff to see what PID terms seem to be the most stable...

Re: A PVC pipe ROV
I too am going a very similar route to you and using standard foul pipe (150mm) it is pretty sturdy and I'm not expecting any problems due to plastic fatigue. I do have a concern for my screw on end caps though so time will tell on that. I plan on filling my ROV with a slight positive pressure with ...

Re: MakiBox 3D printer...
It was a self build version so I suppose some of it may have been my fault not getting bolt tensions exactly right etc.. I've tried nail varnish remover to melt some ABS and it doesn't do a good job. I'm guessing its the additives like glycerin that stop it and I left it for a week. So I guess I'll ...
