Re: making cat5 neutrally buoyant
MNDeepROV thanks for checking. I would get some samples for testing but, since I am in Venezuela, it won't do me any good. I have to have everything ready to pack up because when I go back to the States I am only there for a week or two before coming back.

Re: making cat5 neutrally buoyant
MNDeepRov you said you have some 3/8" of the foam. I looked at the link but could not tell if it was similar to this http://www.thefoamfactory.com/closedcellfoam/polyethylene.html . If it is have you checked to see how much a foot of the foam will support? I am thinking of using some for my tet...

Re: dont you just love google SketchUp!!
I have never used a cad program before and this is my first ROV http://micomarov.weebly.com/. I found the free Sketchup to be the best for me. I tried the freecad program and in my opinion it just was not as intuitive. To get a propeller in Sketchup go to File/3d warehouse/get model and search for &...

I realize this is an old post but though I would add my two cents worth. I have never used a cad program before and this is my first ROV http://micomarov.weebly.com/. I found the free Sketchup to be the best for me. I tried the freecad program and in my opinion it just was not as intuitive.

Re: Relays and servos
You are right. They have a 1 RPM/minute motor also which is probably a better choice. I am going to use the 50 mm propellers. Still waiting on someone to point out the correct relay to use.

Re: Relays and servos
I am going to use a Rule 1100 gph bilge pump for all my thrusters (3). Which relay do I need for those? I am impressed with your fabrication. I was thinking that really all I needed was a really slow motor so when I hit the switch it won't jerk my camera back and forth. This is what I found - https:...

Relays and servos
I want to build a simple ROV. I know enough about electronics to not hook the positive to the negative and to not mix voltage. That is about it. I intend to control my ROV with a joystick (3 thrusters) and on shore power. I have already figured out that running a power line to each thruster is just ...
