Re: ROV Plan

Nice idea to use the audio cables, I have seen ones using speaker wire for tethers and they worked very well. I would calculate the length of speaker wire for resistance and see how much the voltage will drop in 100 feet of wire.

Re: Any suggestions on my ROV design?

Just to let you know, computer fans will eventually short out due to electrolysis. The Rov would need to be in deionized water. Nice design but i would go with bilge pumps which are designed for underwater use.

Re: Battery/ power Options??? Help

ok so i have started calculating everything: with the 24 volts at 1000 watts you get 41.67 amps. How long is your tether? the dc-dc voltage regulator - 12 volts at 700 watts gives you 58.33 amps. why are you running it through a dc to dc regulator??? Also what Seawolf said was correct. As long as yo...

Re: An RC Submarine built cheap!!!

I know it was a waste of a bottle but I was bored that day and felt like building something instead of throwing the bottle away.

Re: Best system for a first time rov builder?

Funny that you mentioned recovery, I was thinking of attaching a piece of strong fishing line to the corner on the frame to recover the ROV. In the case of complete failure, I would reel in the fishing line and retrieve it.

A small saltwater tank up in Alaska!

Hello all, Here are some pics of a saltwater tank that i setup for a few days and fed a pet crab from our local fishing hole. To keep the water cool I put it under a window so the cool air would drop on the tank and keep it from over heating. It actually worked. the other equipment that i used was a...
