Re: Camera questions?
From my experiences, not much. I've seen a small flicker when my mux was activated, but aside from that, not a whole lot of jitter. Depending of definition, you might want to just leech off your motor supply lines instead. Alternately, make sure your Signal Ground and Signal Supply are on the same t...

Re: camera V lap top
I'm using the EasyCAP software.
Finding the driver for windows 7 was a bit of a hassle, but other than that, it's very, very simple to use.

Re: Need ROV Building Advice
We have no idea how to waterproof rotating sockets :p. For all rotational motion, we're still using some sort of bilge motor replacement, which obviously isn't efficient. Your screw powered arm looks great, but i'm currently having trouble envisioning how to make it without a CNC. Using a hacksaw an...

Re: Need ROV Building Advice
Yup. We're still brainstorming on the manipulator. Currently, we're thinking of connecting a bilge motor to a clamp stand, so that'll ... probably.. work. The main limitations are the lack of the milling machines, or a CNC fabricator. We actually have a pretty ingenous way to solve the valve problem...

Box for control systems
Hey, Doing the MATE this year as well! Good luck to everyone else. I have a small problem. I'm using two Arduinos, one on shore to act as a relay between the computer and the ROV arduino. This is, surprisingly, after a bit of programming, working extremely well. I'm using A3959s to power the bilge m...

Re: Need ROV Building Advice
Whoop! I finally finished the VB programming! It was, as you said, surprisingly easy. We now have a fully working USB control stick controlling a PWM wave form. Now to add the A3959 onto it. Oh, the nightmares. How's your ROV going? I would love to post pictures of mine, but it's currently nothing b...

Re: Need ROV Building Advice
You lucky.... person. Those bilge motors are the flipping most expensive bits of our ROV, not counting the motor controllers. Well, he said VB... 6. He's somewhat old school, apparently. Oh well. It's looking halfway decent currently. For now, we're going Computer - Arduino - 10 meters - Arduino(ROV...

Re: Need ROV Building Advice
Hey, Doing MATE this year as well, good luck to you! The cheapest and fastest way to get two arduinos is to just buy the ATMega32 chip alone with bootloader, and make your own arduino on stripboard, which is what we're doing. It's a lot simpler than you think. You might require a FTDI to USB cable t...
