Thanx Steve, that were my thaugts also, nice to get confirmation:) My rov will be a bit heavy with a counter ballance tank to get som extra lift when the waight on the arm get high. But i think i'll go with pneumatic. But if someone got a better idea im listening!

A fishing sonar is maby the easy and cheapest way to go, if you "reset" at serfice you can get a depht total, and then just count down as you dive. But not shure if that would work when the deapth variates. But another option is the deapht function in divers watches, this is pressure based...

Stainless steeel VS pvc frame

Noticed that most builds in here is PVC. What are the advantage of pvc without the obvious reson of weight? Acid - dipped Stainless steel makes a strong deepdive frame that wont give. And if you want a strong manipulator arm, a more heavy construction makes a more stabile build? wont it? moore thrus...
