Hull resources?
I originally was going to use schedule 80 PVC for my hull, but realized there would be a lot of non standard parts i need to affix the dome and have an easily removable end cap with all my hull penetrators. Aside from just buying the assembly from Bluerobotics, i'm curious what options or suggestion...

Water tight hull breaches?
I'm curious what the best method of making sure your penetrations into the hull for cables, etc are water proofed, specifically at pressure. I'm looking to go 200-300 feet down in fresh water (Great Lakes) to explore ship wrecks just off the coast. I worry that just simply JB welding the holes will ...

Re: Arduino/Teensy transmitting over RS485?
UTP has a max distance of 100m with Cat 5 cable. Practical with interference it is a bit lower around 80m is the max I managed in a network setup with good cable, but interference of lamp transformators. Presumably you are talking about Ethernet, which has data rates of 10Mb, 100Mb or 1Gb, dependin...

I'm sorry, i'm a mechanical engineer so i'm still learning a lot of the tech side of the hobby....

Re: Water right wiring through hulls?
Thanks!! I know the IP ratings don't really do depths, but i can definitely test these out.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Asesorplaza1 and Bennachie, thank you, that is very helpful I'll have to do some reading on Termination resistors!

Water right wiring through hulls?
I'm curious how everyone is getting their wiring into the hull and staying water right? I'm hesitant to just throw a ton of epoxy at something. Are there affordable water tight fittings?

Arduino/Teensy transmitting over RS485?
What is needed to make sure you don't have severe signal attenuation over 200ft of RS485 between two Arduino/Teensy boards? From what i understand the voltage is not strong enough to go any significant distance when using the easy transfer library. Is there a booster or something required? Edit: I s...
