Maiden Dive by High School Robotics Students of their Peers

Here is a video of the Oakridge Junior Senior High School Robotics students piloting their underwater ROV that they built. We were fortunate to be able to film their peers scuba diving at a pool in Eugene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YDrU38Zoz0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-q-YilkDTU (This ...

Re: Loss of picture

For FPV racing quads we used to use capacitors and ferrite chokes to "smooth" out the video interference from motor noise. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpos ... stcount=14

Re: Pulling Cat5e inside hollow braided floating yellow rope

Maybe a lubricant might help. Liquid soap. Easy to rinse off and you'd have the cleanest tehter in the world. Thanks for the idea! Can't believe I didn't think of soap to reduce friction. It has made it much easier, but still tough to pull through the long length. My tether has never smelled so good.

Pulling Cat5e inside hollow braided floating yellow rope

I am trying to pull 100 yards of cat5e (only rated to 25lb of pulling strength, which I need more if I hit current) inside of 3/8" hollow braid floating yellow rope and it is like a gigantic "Chinese finger trap" I used to have as a kid... each time I feed the cat5e through the hollow...

Re: Cat5 tether buoyancy

Does closed cell foam work as floats or is there something better?

Re: Cat5 tether buoyancy

Yeah I wish I wasn't being so cheap when I bought it. I saw the cheap 125' feet for less than $10, but I have to be very careful with it so it doesn't kink.

Cat5 tether buoyancy

Any tips on making cat5 neutrally bouyant to depths up to 100 feet (freshwater)? I have the cat5 ziptied to parachute chord about every 2 feet for strength to pull back in the rov if needed so I don't strain the cat5. The tether keeps getting tangled on the rocks and logs on the bottom. https://yout...

DT700's and Prop Selection

I am running DT700's from Hobbyking on my rov and wanted to know if there are any 3D printed props that anyone uses that stay within the max 13A at 12V (3s Lipo)? (Or are the Graupner 60mm are what people are using)
