RC Controller for Hard Wired ROV

Hi, I am new here so hope this isn't flogging a dead horse. I am designing an underwater ROV based upon an Arduino board for logic. I plan to first build a drop camera to sort things out and it will have camera pan and rotation as well as led lighting. All significant power will be on-board by Lipo ...

Re: How about this camera?

How did the PC600XS work out for you? I got the PC600XP up and running on an old LCD computer monitor and it was pretty good I thought. There was a lot of graininess in the image but color was good, depth of field good, and a slight distortion because of the fisheye view. All in all for $20 I can't...

Re: Who Sells PVC Pipe In Heavy Wall?

That stinks My first guess is the camera is getting hot or something and shutting down. If you have some other RCA devise you could run it through the monitor to eliminate the monitor as the problem I guess I misunderstood about you still needing a camera gimble on your drop camera. On my ROV I run...

Re: Who Sells PVC Pipe In Heavy Wall?

Hey Joe, I have been experimenting with a $20 Sony cam that I bought from Supercircuits.com. It is a pinhole cam but it has decent resolution and great low light specs, .0001 LUX rating. I have it set up in my living room and even at night with all house lights off except the kitchen light (kitchen ...

Re: Outrunner Underwater??

My printer isn't set up for nylon at the moment (working with PETG now) but the fact that nylon is said to absorb water got me thinking. Could it also absorb oil? Soaking a nylon bearing in oil for a while and make it self lubricating? Don't think it works that way. Nylon is not a porous "spon...

Any LED Guru's Out there? Camera Lighting Questions.

I would like to build a circular array of bright LED lights to put around the lens of an underwater camera. The camera and LED array will be protected by a water proof housing. I am envisioning a lens hood that I can machine from aluminum with provisions to mount two circular rows of LED's around th...

Re: Who Sells PVC Pipe In Heavy Wall?

"The suggestion of CCTV cable was for your drop camera not the rov although it is what I use on my rov but I use a rc radio not a computer board"

Now I am totally lost. How do you use an RC radio in a ROV application?

Re: Who Sells PVC Pipe In Heavy Wall?

The gimball I have converted for my rov is a pan tilt for a Boss Camera it has 2 mini servos and wasn't to bad to adapt a different camera to As for your drop camera why don't you just use cctv cable you can get it 200 ft long and it already has the ends on it you would just make the ones at the ca...
