Re: Underwater 3D
This sounds great in theory but, I fear, it would be quite challenging to implement practically. The main issue that jumps out at me, having played a fair bit with Oculus DK2 (and GearVr) stuff in Unity, would be massive motion sickness generated by having your head control the movement of the sub b...

Re: PS2 controller code question Brushless motor Arduino
Here is my code, using Bill Porters library, which reads the analog values from both PS2 sticks and then sends it across a serial connection to another Arduino. Hope this helps! // ROV_Controller_v06 // Arduino Micro #include <SoftwareSerial.h> #include <SoftEasyTransfer.h> #include <PS2X_lib.h> //f...

Re: The Redback - My First ROV
@subn00b, I built my ROV Chassis out of 1/2" thick HDPE with 6 T100 Thrusters and two 4" diameter 11 3/4" long WTCs and I still had to add almost 5 pounds of ballast to get it to be just slightly awash. Regards, SSN626B/TCIII Thanks for the info. I was worried about having to add a l...

Re: The Redback - My First ROV
The project is still moving along with all the electronics now prototyped. The programming is basically finished but I need to finish programming some extra OSD overlay stuff. Hardware wise, I've got all the motors, ESCs, props, batteries, and cabling and I just need to finish soldering connectors o...

Re: The Redback - My First ROV
Looks pretty sweet! Not sure about the ping pong balls though. Not had any experience with them Neither have I but I was reading the great info posted by KR2_Diving here: http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/rovforum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=803&hilit=ping+pong&start=90#p9968 and it seemed that the...

The Redback - My First ROV
I outlined the control electronics for my ROV in my intro post here: http://www.homebuiltrovs.com/rovforum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1724 And since I've got most of it working, at least in a basic fashion, I thought I'd turn my attention to the design of the frame. I plan on using a 4" enclosure ...

Re: New build using Blue Robotics components
The dome is a new Blue Robotics product that is in beta testing. For more info you will need to contact Rusty at Blue Robotics. Thanks for the info. Actually after I posted that question I did notice on the Blue Robotics site it mentioned that they'll be introducing domes soon so it's good to see o...

Re: Hello from Sydney!
Thanks Ross.
I actually find the electronics stuff easier as it's more about learning and less about physical tools.
Ironically I think I'll have at least a fishing line tether connected to the float just in case so maybe it's not completely wireless
Hugh.

Re: New build using Blue Robotics components
That's looking really good. I'm thinking of getting a BlueRobotics enclosure for my project so it's good to hear they're well made.
May I ask where you got the dome from? It looks like it fits perfectly!

Hello from Sydney!
Sydney Australia that is, not the one up north :) I've been lurking for about a month, and soaking up lots of the forums knowledge, as I've begun building my first ROV but the time has come to join up and share with everybody. Of course I'll have some questions, which I'll post in the appropriate se...
